The diode doesn't work on phone Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro after change firmware update Android 1.6 to Android 2.1

What steps will reproduce the problem?
My model phone is Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro.
After updating the firmware  Android 1.6 to Android  2.1 I have a problem with 
led. 
If I get an sms with the help of the native program I see a green led.
When I receive a sms with the help of SMS Popup, the diode doesn't work. The 
led doesn't light. 
Before change the firmware Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro on Android 1.6, I 
could use different color diode in the application. 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect that phone's diod will be change color when I receive sms, but the 
diode is black and it doesn't light.   

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Android 2.1, SMS Popup 1.0.9

This is an issue with the Sony Ericsson Android system software, apparently LED 
only works when screen is off on after the latest update (see issue 199).
