Force close before each popup is shown #90

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Since the new 1.0.7, before the popup is shown, it force closes SMS Popup
and no popup is shown at all.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0.7 on 2.0.1 Moto Droid

Please provide any additional information below.
Since we fixed the issue with popups hanging in 1.0.6, you had me test with
the 1.0.7beta2 and that worked perfect. After installing the final version
from the market I just get force closes every time I get a message. (I did
uninstall the beta before installing the market version)

Now I'm back on the beta2 you gave me for now since it works perfectly.

There were actually 2 versions of 1.0.7, one with a bug and one without. The
one on
Market now and in the download section of this site should be the one without
the
bug. Can you try this and see if it's working? FYI, the bug would force close
when
you receive a message for a contact that you have a notification customization
for.

If you DO still see force closes with the fixed version, can you send me your
system
logs? If you don't know how to do this you can install this little log
collector
app:
http://android-smspopup.googlecode.com/files/Send%20Logs%20v1.0.0.apk
(just run it after SMS Popup force closes)

Well I don't have any custom contact notifications at the moment, but I'll
re-install
the new one and test it out. I'll let you know what I come up with.

Thanks

I don't know if this is related or not, but most of the time when I see the
pop-up, I
notice the home screen, icons and notification bar all disappear and then slowly
start to reappear in the background. Almost like the launcher process crashes
then
restarts itself.

Home screen disappearing is usually related to low memory conditions (depending
on
which phone, on the G1 this is almost always the case).

I'm closing this issue for now, but if someone can capture their logs after
they see a
"force close" message from SMS Popup I can debug further so feel free to
re-open.
