Compiled HTML Help Not Much Help #618

Closed lextudio-support closed 1 day ago

Hi... I am new to the product. So, after downloading, I went to Help and tried to open Documentation.chm.

I see the contents of the left pane fine, but the right pane, no matter what I select, says

"Navigation to the webpage was canceled"

Version SquareRoot(4.0)

On both

InternetExplorer

MS HTML Help Executable

Any guidance appreciated!

A little white lie: when I click on items in the Contents pane, I actually see:

You probably use Windows Vista or Windows 7 so you are new to Windows :). Then please

1. extract the CHM file from the package

2. right click on it in Windows Explorer and choose Properties

3. click Unblock button there.

This should make the CHM work as expected.

Regards,

Lex

Thanks! Actually I am on XP, not Vista or 7. But, regardless, that worked. I guess all the other times I have done accessed chm files, they were all internal. Cool…. Learning is great. Thanks again.

Hi dc,

Glad to see that unblocking the file makes thing fine.

I have been using Windows Vista and Windows 7 for a long time, so did not realize that such security enhancement also goes to Windows XP now.

Regards,

Lex
