Memory management problem and slow motion #37

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. use Xmind for a while

Problem:
Memory used by the application seems never to be released and keeps
accumulating. Once, after some time working with Xmind, the memory usage
was more than 1GB! There is clearly a problem there. Just by opening a map,
I am already at 121MB of memory usage without doing anything!

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.0.1 on Windows Vista

Please provide any additional information below.
Otherwise, I find Xmind very nice and fancy. But it is still always lagging
behind in terms of operational efficiency. I use to take notes quickly
during academic meetings (that's why a Mind Map application is for, not?)
and the application is not so quickly responsive as it should be. Example:
a click everywhere in Mind Manager triggers instantaneously a topic. In
Xmind, you have to double-click, it opens with a shadow a nice Topic but it
is more focused on esthetics than on quickly taking notes. That's my opinion.

Best regards,

HP

What's your JRE version? You may get this information in XMind: Help menu ->
About XMind -> Configuration
Details. If you fail to find it, just copy-paste the whole text here, or upload
it as a txt file. Thanks!

I have java.version=1.6.0_14 (Ubuntu 9.04, Gnome 2.26.1, Xmind 3.0.3)

I have an .xmind file.

Then file was 'little' (10 kb) the time between press 'save' and 'you can
continue
your work' was very short - 1 or 2 sec.

Now the size is 183 kb. Each time then I save the file, the response time is
significantly bigger than it is expected - 14 sec.

Actually with my file opened XMind reserve 184 Mb from RAM.

Is my report adjacent to hugues.pirotte report?

Thank you for the great soft.
