Double-clicking a .xmind file on MacOS 10.5.6 launches XMind but does not open the document. #58

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Save .xmind file
2. Double click on file in finder.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

A blank document is brought up. Opening the file manually from within XMind
works perfectly.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

3.0.1

Please provide any additional information below.

XMind 3 and XMind Pro 3 does not have this feature from v3.0.1. Because of the
open
source policy, XMind has to look other solution to achieve this effect.

This worked in version 3.0. What do you mean by "Because of the open
source policy, XMind has to look other solution to achieve this effect."? How
does
this affect the functionality? It works fine for Windows.

There are a great many Open Source applications that open files on the
Macintosh platform.
What are the specific differences that have been encountered with OS X, that
prevent the proper implementation
of double-click and the file opens?

I must admit, I still don't understand why all other open source applications
can open files from a double
click, but XMind cannot. I kind of assumed this kind of functionality is a
built in part of the Mac's file
operating system. Most software even allows for drag and drop.

I think I'd be happy if I could simply know *why* this is so difficult to
achieve.

I totally agree. I'm seriously thinking to use again freemind because of this
problem
in Xmind.
Any program opens the file when you doubleclick it.

Confirmation that this problem still exists in v.3.0.3 (running SL 10.6.2).
Furthermore, drag and drop doesn't work to open the document (dropping onto a
blank
canvas, or onto the dock). However, dropping onto an existing map will link
the file
as a new item in this map. Is there a status update on this? Cheers.
