Fold break functionality?

I came across this looking for a specific solution to my folding issue: I want the content following some folds to stay, denoted by some character. Here's an example, where in my journal I fold timestamps thorughout the day and want to leave the journal footnote intact:

I installed this plugin hoping the %% fold %% function would help me do this. Does this plugin do that or am I doing this wrong? I love the workflows with folding this enables nonetheless, so ty.

This is really late, but I hope it can help nonetheless – that's the intended functionality for folding, it'll fold everything beneath it until it finds a heading of the same or higher level. The Creases plugin doesn't help with that, its job is to remember WHAT is folded, not how.

One trick I use to get around this when I want something under a heading to be left alone, is to put an empty heading before it, so it looks like this:

When folding the heading, the rest is not folded because it's under a heading of the same level.

Or in your case you could just make the "remember" line a heading too!
