Been away for a few weeks and had no time to look into this. And will be on holidays for 2.5 weeks starting ... Thursday. I will try to have a look at this for you before then
Tried updating librtmp but no use! Saw a few places that updating this helped streams but it was no good.
This has been a god send the last few months. Hopefully the issue can be resolved. If you need anything tested let me know :-)
Hi,
just got a few minutes to look into this as am back at home for the weekend.
On my test machine, Windows 7, XBMC Eden, the AerTV plugin is not working so bad ...
The RTE Two HD channel does not appear in the list (and I will have a look to see why) RTE 1, 2, TV3, TG4, 3e ... all work properly.
Some of the new "AerTV" channels are not working, but then, they don't work from my Chrome browser either. So I will look into those, but no guarantees.
@upandcomming: are you in Ireland or overseas someplace? It is possible that AerTV have turned on harder geo blocking.
I posted a small fix for RTE 2 HD in AerTV: it was playing RTE One. I don't think I'll bother with the AerTV Movies etc channels: they don't appear to have any real content at all, apart from a bunch of trailers on a loop.
As it happens I am away all week again: I will check to see if this plugin works from outside of Ireland.
The plugin does not work from outside ireland. This is because AerTV have implemented "proper" geo-blocking in some way. Previously it was sufficient to add some headers to the HTTP traffic stating that you had an irish ip address (even when you didn't). This no longer works.
So probably you will need now at least an Irish proxy service, or possibly a full VPN, to make this work from overseas.
I don't have much time to look into this from abroad, apart from confirming that indeed the plugin works fine in Ireland, but does not work any more from outside ireland ...
Thank you very much Liam. I am indeed in the US for the summer. It was working fine up until my first post in issues but alas as you said it no longer works.
I am using ATV1 and ATV2 with Eden.
The AerTV plugin no longer works even in Ireland. I spent some time looking into it ... even with wireshark it is proving extremely hard to work out what they are up to now.
I cannot figure out what the RTMP URLs should be for any of the playing streams.
If someone with better tools wants to have a go ...
Fix from nickhx merged. AerTV is back (at least for the free channels, and at least in Ireland)
Reported as working
Issue is becoming more widespread in its reporting. I have version 1.1.3j (don't know where I got it from) and it quit working the other night.
Tried to access AerTV stream and it just hung in "Working"!
Any idea of a fix?
