Probably, we need to find a way to keep track of the type for each property. It could cause problems when you have strings and integers and you try to generate a histogram.

this issue is about DIFFERENT configurations having keys with different types. This is not a problem for storage, but the summary of that key will fail. let's allow it to fail with an "mixed type" error.
