Official app? #20

As far as I can tell this project will not be the officail calendar app? Are there any plans of contributing your very good solutions to the other calendar project? Or vice versa?

Because you solved one of the main problems in the calendar app -> not being able to disable shared calendars, more views, integration of tasks, fading in and out fo calendars, etc...

Can you share some insight on this matter? The same applies to tasks or gallery...

I as a enduser am a bit confused.

Hopefully the combined energy will be focused well...

The enhancements in @libasys app are wonderful

@Tramour @farson2003 my statement: I think this version of the calendar app becomes not official, because:

  1. The app works only for OC 8.1 or later/ backport earlier version not possible, the older version of oc works with old saberdav and vobject libs!
  2. Some of the web gui enhancement aren't welcome by maintainer of the official calendar app (i.e task navbar ride side, more calendar views year, work weeks, settingsdialog and so on)
  3. The rework branch of the official calendar app is with angularJS and i am not familiar to angularJS and i am not have the time to learn a new js framework! Writing good code with angularJS, needs more than a year experience!

Summary: I give the users the choice, which calendar app they want to use!

Ok. Thanks for the update. But it's a pitty that it can't be merged. The features you offer are more than welcome and for me essential for becoming groupware. Especially the integration of tasks, more views!, color picking for calendars, being able to turn of shared calendars, etc...

Keep up the good work! I will support you as good as I can.

@Tramour @libasys we will try to collaborate wherever possible of course. Everything you (@tramour) mention in the list of features you like might be something we build into the ownCloud Calendar as well at some point. However the implementation and design of all these features has to be thought through correctly so we don’t just drop them in and overwhelm normal people with the breadth of functionality. :)
