It just occurred to me that Liberapay could give symbolic awards to donors, similar to StackOverflow's badges and Reddit's trophies. These things don't have any monetary value, they exist to incentivize certain actions, by giving users bragging rights and a feeling of accomplishment.

This idea came to me while I was thinking of users who are the first to donate to a creator. Other commendable actions could be contributing to Liberapay in various ways (code, translation, donation…).

While I'm always intruidgued by gamification systems, I feel like this is somewhat inappropriate for Liberapay. I want to donate because I want to support whomever I want to give money to, not because it earns me a medal. I see a conflict with the idea behind "Liberapay is only for donations and not Patreon"; you don't donate for and don't receive a reward.

I do feel like it would be cool though. In my opinion, it would be ideal if there was some other website that would generate some statistics and achivements off publicly available data, but it shouldn't be part of the main website.

Side-noting: Gamification has this strange corporate feeling attached to it. Maybe, you will want to donate using Liberapay instead of donating to a provided bitcoin address or wire connection which you might have used otherwise just because it comes with a fancy badge. That is not what Liberapay should be like.
