Profits

Almost all of the money in our bank account comes from the difference between what the payout fees are supposed to be and what Mangopay actually charges us. This money should be returned to the people who unduly paid those phantom fees. I sent a question to Mangopay regarding this problem but I haven't received a final response yet.

Update (2019-01-31): I never got a proper answer from Mangopay. The profits were returned in July (https://github.com/liberapay/liberapay.com/pull/1185).

Costs

The org had no problem paying its bills in 2017. The 1-year free tier on AWS kept our hosting bill close to zero, however it will end in two months so we're going to have much higher hosting bills in 2018.

I've recently added liberapay.net to our domain names, and it looks like the org is going to be the new guardian of the Gratipay domain names (https://github.com/gratipay/inside.gratipay.com/issues/1217), so our DNS bill is also going to rise.

Finally, we're pretty much out of swag (https://github.com/liberapay/salon/issues/100), so we may order a batch again this year.
