I've sent an invite to yfdyh000, who has contributed to the Chinese translations.
@yfdyh000 Feel free to take some money from the team.
@revi: in January last year, you said that your take will probably go to near-0 in the end of 2021.
Right now, this isn't the case (your take is still at 10€ a week) and it would be great if you could write down here what are your intention in order to clarify this thing.
Please note that the purpose of this message is to clarify things, because everyone who reads from someone "I will do something later" expects that person to do that thing by the date they said they would, and appreciates being kept informed of what's new if that thing can't be done in time.
I've sent an invite to biskwikman, who has contributed some code.
@biskwikman Feel free to take some money from the team.
Thanks for the invite! I've never been involved with a team payment system like this before. Do people generally just set their amount based on how much work they feel they've done on the project for that week?
You should read this comment and the article it links to.
Also, you have to connect a payment account in order to actually receive money.
Occam's razor: I forgot. Downgrading.
I have a question about how the distribution of the money works. What happens to the Leftover
money? It says it will be consumed in the following weeks. But what would happen if everyone were to set their nominal take to 0? Would the leftover be split among everyone?
The leftover wouldn't be used, it would increase as new donations are made, and the donations would be messed up because their renewal dates should be pushed back indefinitely but this isn't implemented.
I've found someone (email pablo.ortizv3ra AT gmail DOT com) who is willing to translate Liberapay to Croatian (hr
), C1 diploma, who has already translated a book and has lived in Croatia. I've told him that we work with donations and he wouldn't receive much. I propose that he gets something like 35 € for the whole translation. I can send him an invite when he creates a Liberapay account.
I'm fine with a Croatian translator joining the team.
We can't really control how much a team member receives, so I'm not sure why you're proposing a specific amount.
He asked me information about an amount. I didn't know what to tell him, so I proposed an amount here.
Looking at https://liberapay.com/Liberapay/income/, we have several translators taking €10 per week or more. It would be fine for someone working on a completely new translation to do the same. This should result in them receiving more than €35 in the first month alone.
