monitor mode? #1

Hello libing64, Does the csi-tool work in monitor mode to get the csi data? Look forward your reply! Thanks.

@wynter-wang The csi-tool does not work in monitor mode, you should build the connection between the receiver and transmitter before collecting csi data.

Thanks for your reply! I'm embrassed that I am not very good about the 802.11 protocols and ath9k. So I think if the csi-tool can work properly in ap and sta mode, it can work successfully and can get csi-data normally. But I was wrong!

Can you expain it simply? Thanks a lot!

@wynter-wang Sorry, I am not sure. If you want to use monitor mode, you can try another csi tool https://github.com/dhalperi/linux-80211n-csitool/.

Hi, libing, I want to know whether we can modify the tools to make the tool work in monitor mode? or, it's limited by the handware, and we can't do it?
