Is this project abandoned? New maintainer?

I don't mean to be rash if folks here are still intending to maintain this
project, amazing job so far! -- I'm just noticing that there has not been a
release since 2007 and the last SVN commit was back in Sept 2008. Is this
being maintained elsewhere? Just on haitus? abandoned?

If none of the maintainers aren't interested or able to work on this
anymore, is anyone else interested in being maintainer or forming a
separate package to address some of the issues listed here together?
