Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. gPodder 2.13/2.14
2. try to add subscription http://feeds.feedburner.com/rage

What is the expected output?
Expect to add subscription and for episodes to be downloaded / checked

What do you see instead?
Error message: Could not be added...global name 'keymap' is not defined

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1) gPodder 2.13/2.14
2) "python-feedparser" package 4.1-6.3.1 (5th April 2011 build)
3) openSUSE 11.3 / KDE 4.4.4 rel 3

Please provide any additional information below.

No error / gPodder works correctly when earlier version of "python-feedparser"
package 4.1-5.1 is installed from the openSUSE repositories.

Other feeds work ok with 4.1-6.3.1 just not the one above.

Howdy! After reviewing the information at

http://pkgs.org/opensuse-11.3/opensuse-update-i586/python-feedparser-4.1-6.3.1.n
oarch.rpm.html

it looks like there are openSUSE-specific backports from feedparser 5.0.1 to
the five-year-old 4.1 release. According to the poster in the original gPodder
bug report, the poster downloaded a stock feedparser 5.0.1 tarball that fixed
the error. I won't support the 4.1 release nor the backported patches, but I've
notified the openSUSE contributor who backported the patches.

Thanks for clarifying the position and notifying the backport contributor.
