Merge 2.0 branch into master. Includes the following PRs:

Verified unit and integration tests passing locally:

Finished in 4.42 seconds (files took 0.25375 seconds to load)
98 examples, 0 failures

Finished in 4.69 seconds (files took 0.25611 seconds to load)
53 examples, 0 failures

Awesome, this also includes dropping multijson as a hard dependency, now it is only used if already required (otherwise we use stdlib json).

Following up: 2.0.0.beta has been stable for a month, going to promote to 2.0.0.
