This is coming from a similar angle as #1016, namely that the YT blocks are quite painful at the moment. When I'm on YouTube and I'm opening another video to watch in a new tab, the other tab will try to use an alternative instance again. At the moment this works only very rarely. So I'd propose not opening links in an alternative frontend if the links were opened on the original platform; the reason being that usually browsing the original platform is a signal strong enough that you currently want to use it (seeing also how you have to jump through some extra hoops to even open the platform if you have this extension installed).
Any thoughts? Thanks for all the work on this extension!
