Tumbleweed: applet shows transparent window although libraries are installed #13

O.K. see it is better to find out here what is wrong. Let us give a short description: after installing the qml related package, the window now shows without error, it is transparent, you can search for shares, the codes and names work but you actually do not see list once you save. You can hover with your mouse over the (invisible) list and if you come across the share, its informative popup will show. But you cannot click on it, it does not open the chart.

I give you here the system kde version Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20230416 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.105.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 Kernel Version: 6.2.10-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 4 × AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad-Core Processor Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon Pro W5500 Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.

I do not know what to list for qt, but if you give me the command I can run it. Generally I am using zypper.

I have only experience with bugzilla so ... be patient if I did break some "rule" or if I am unsatisfying for what is procedure or some local netiquette. Take my apologies in advance.

Maybe we can close this, if this is satisfying for you. Today (still in that situation) I clicked around wildly in the window. Then at a certain point I must have hit a trigger for the "i" point giving the popup of information for that share. After a delay of 10 seconds after closing it, the list magically appeared without further interference. And now it seems to work. I will see if after the next boot it will still work. But if it is, then we can close it (advice for other users encountering this would be "register several shares and click wildly on the right side of the window). I know this is quite weird as description but this is how it went.

OK. it HAS issues. I have now added 4 shares in a row and it worked. Then when joining another two, they appear in the list, but they are invisible and not listed. Refreshing the desktop does not help. Also hovering over the place were they should be does not show any popup. So, when you have an idea how to debug this, I am willing to go the way. I have to advise you that I will be on travel from the 23.02.2023 for about a fortnight. So I will have access to my desktop then. Cheers.

Could you share some screenshots if possible?

01stakanov commented 1 year ago

I will, but now I have another curiosity. After the system was idle and I came back, the list vanished again. Like before, all empty. It seems that some lib crashes (can a lib crash? I doubt it) or become inaccessible. Quite puzzling for me. But the shares are all there - Screenshot_20230419_221140 just the app as it presents now Screenshot_20230419_221027

and I forgot to mention: what did you do before the software had this issue? Well, I tried to open a graph of two or three shares, the window opened but the graph was loading without end, not showing anything. Afterwards I went back, and when I cam back to the PC after a few hours.... oops the line were gone.

So, when I tried this morning: the window is empty, then the share is revealed by hovering, clicking on "i" for info does produce the popup, then going back with the arrow does show a list in which the first share is repeated three times. Two times followed by the whole list, one time "alone". Finally after a few minutes, now the list appears, no interaction occurred. I attach the respective screenshots. the app is empty but hovering reveals the share clicking random on i does give the popup after returning to the main page now the values appear but the list is double (begins again and again) list appears finally normal

Could it be related to the theme you're using? Does it happen if you use Breeze?

As I don't use Tumbleweed and don't really have much spare time testing different distributions and different configurations, I'll only be able to catch up in terms of KDE and Plasma versions when Leap 15.5 releases.

Feel free to clone the code and poke around :)
