Have you tried if it works? According to this page https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-developer/feeds#feed_configuration only branches and commits hashes can be used, not tags.

I just tested and it works! Using the same syntax as the branch naming... This sounds like a bad implementation on OpenWrt side but it's great for us.
