errors during set refference state #428

in this commit 6056c5688ae09044f4cb1c79bd6454b5fc8733eb (HEAD -> f/use-async-reference-state, kon/f/use-async-reference-state) image setting new reference state indicates error. Maybe is due to the inclusion of the link id (mac1+mac2) ?
