Super Mario World 2 save not updating #10

Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island (USA) saves are not being updated in Retroarch.

Other games seem to be fine.

Standalone Mesen-S 0.4.0 also works fine.

Same issue here. It just won't do any saves at all for Yoshi's Island for some reason.

I tried saving on another core then loading mesen-s again to see if it can read it but still nothing. I even tried rolling back to the earliest build I could find to see if any update broke the core, but even the earliest version couldn't load it so I guess the issue has always been there.

It just seems weird to me that this is the only game that behaves like that. What's different in Yoshi's Island that breaks this core?
