[REQ] Support for network share on NAS [Samba/NFS/UPNP/FTP] #11773

I am talking about Android version, but other would be nice too. Would be nice to have access to network folders like it's on RetroPie/Batocera, etc. I have Synology NAS and storing there terabytes of ROMs, however RetroArch on my FireTV stick (Android) I am not able to connect it. Thank you so much for your great work!

@Cthulhu-throwaway I am just tagging anything even halfway network code-related with the networking tag in case you'd ever like to look at open issues that might pique one's interest.

I would like that also, it's especially valid for Android, i.e. ChromeOS in my case and Fire TV and others like Android/Linux Handhelds. On ChromeOS there is actually a way to even mount a Network Drive and get path within System Settings, yet trying to add it to the configuration file for directory Path is not working.
