Error C2-12828-1 when selected a NES emulator as Core for testing #12115

Open OmegaXavier opened 3 years ago

OmegaXavier commented 3 years ago

First and foremost consider this:

Description

I opened RetroArch on psVita 2000 to use it with a NES Game, upon selecting the core Nestopia.

Note: it had been used before properly with SNES9x emulator, no issue ever until core was changed.

Expected behavior

Emulator chosen and being able to run RetroArch properly

Actual behavior

RetroArch is since crashing and won't let me run it again, showing Error seen at this post's title

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Open RetroArch (maybe on Vita 2000?)
  2. Chage core
  3. Select Nestopia
  4. If successful, select a NES Rom
  5. It will crash by this point if it didn't when changing core.

Bisect Results

Already explained: when selecting Nestopia as the core

Version/Commit

Vita is v3.65

Latest RetroArch, I'm sure of it.

Environment information

IMPORTANT NOTE: I'm trying to upload the log file but i'm getting the message "We don't support that file type. Try Again with a GIF, JPEG, JPG, MOV, MP4, PNG, DOCX, GZ, LOG, PDF, PPTX, TXT, XLSX or ZIP" instead. I changed the file extension to .txt to .txt but it's actually a .dmp; you just have to remove .txt to rever it back to the proper extension.

TIP: would you indly consider creating your own log system?

Cheers!

To the reader: would you kindly let me know how to fully remove RetroArch to reinstall anew while you find the fix? I already tried with the Bubble's remove option but it does not clean everything up the way it would be expected.

Thanks

Have you tried any other NES emus? I think Nestopia started crashing on 3DS when the NstDatabase was baked in, so this may be the same issue.

I'd love to change the emu, problem is: ReatroArch (Vita, not 3DS) is crashing on the very startup, so no chance whatsoever to select another one

Thanks for the suggestion, though
