Description

Tmall tv box is based on AliOS. When I installed RetroArch on it, it was recognized as an android phone, and showed the phone's touch UI.

This is pretty common. There's no way for RetroArch to know which devices are phones and which are set-top boxes without hardcoding them. It's easy to change the menu, though. Just go to settings > driver and change "glui" to "xmb" or "ozone"

But I can't move to the settings button with my TV's remote control, and I just can't move to any button either.

How were you intending to play games with just a remote control?

yunnysunny commented 5 years ago

I have an USB joystick , which connects to the TV box. I have played nes games with NES.emu and mame games with MAME4droid. But when I tried RetroArch, I met the problem I mentioned above.

You should still be able to navigate the menu with a pad on any of RA's menu driver. Does RA detect your TV remote or gamepad? A notification should pop up on the bottom left to show that it does.

RA does not detect my remote control or gamepad, this is why I report this issue. I can't navigate the menu.

Weird. Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling? With RA that usually solves just about ALL of the problems haha.

I don't think it'll be much of a difference, but try installing the 64 bit version of RA and see if any pads work on that. Also try downloading any of the latest nighties and see if they work,

Good Luck.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall it. But it doesn't work. My tv box can only install 32 bit version.

If you don't have a touch screen you're SOL. You need a supported gamepad.

Any 8bitdo pad should work.
