Crazy Inputs from Switch Pro Controllers #9509

Description

Switch Pro controllers cause a bunch of weird phantom inputs that push people into the onscreen keyboard showing non-english symbols

Expected behavior

Normal controller mapping and functioning

Actual behavior

weird phantom inputs that send you to the onscreen keyboard for non-english symbols

Steps to reproduce the bug

plug in a Switch Pro controller

Bisect Results

has been happening for at least 5 months, as per this issue on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroArch/comments/b6mgkk/whenever_i_connect_my_nintendo_switch_pro/ but still seems to be an issue, according to: https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroArch/comments/d8d2d0/switch_pro_controller_freaks_retroarch_out/

Environment information

This happens on Linux as well, but only when using the udev joypad driver. After switching (no pun intended) to sdl2, the phantom inputs disappeared and the controller worked as expected.

Try closing Steam if it is open, it made a difference for me

not true anymore just doesnt fucking work
