Have you tried the most recent version of the emulator? A few PGXP fixes were added lately by @iCatButler.
I just tried the most recent release of the core. The issue still persists.
I have this issue too, is there any way to fix it now while using Memory + CPU?
In Resident Evil 3 (NTSC-USA) [SLUS-00923] , no flames or fire appear when PGXP operation mode: memory + CPU is activated. This occurs in Vulkan and GL render modes. PGXP Memory Only and Off work correctly.
To reproduce this, begin a new game. Once actual gameplay begins in front of the apartment building, you will see that there are no flames when memory+CPU is activated. Switching to Memory only fixes this issue.
EDIT: I also need to mention that if you began the game in PGXP memory only or Off, then switch to memory + CPU, the flames are there. However if you progress in the game and arrive at another location with flames, the flames are not there in memory + CPU.
EDIT: This issue also affects Biohazard 3: Last Escape (Japan) [SLPS-02300]
