I am experiencing various issues running Final Fantasy VII from Within the Beetle PSX HW Core.
Primarily, I am not seeing the battle swirl. This has been reported and marked as resolved before, but I attempted various settings changes and was unable to fix the issue, so I believe it is recurring.
I have noticed the swirl appears if I run the emulator in Windowed mode.
The other issue is that during battles, the framerate drops to an unplayable level, then the gameplay simply stops. The music and animation continue, but no further activity takes place.
I have replicated these issues in both the Vulkan and GL renderers.
I have attempted the following to resolve these issues, with no change:
Reduced internal GPU resolution to native
Disabled Adaptive smoothing
Disabled Supersampling
Disabled all PGXP options
Disabled line-to-quad hack
Disabled Frame Duping
Changed Core-Reported FPS Timing to Allow Automatic Toggle
The issue seems to recur no matter what options I choose. Any advice that can be offered would be helpful. My native desktop resolution is 2560x1440. I don't have issues like this with any other game.
