Can not rebind gamepad correctly #9

Open WildPenquin opened 5 years ago

Per default, my gamepad is configured in an awkward way. Left is "insert coin" (which, btw, will insert all 9 credits instantaneously), right is "select item / start", Start is "Gear" etc (these description relations are: My Gamepad "Function in game"). Right Shoulder button will return to menu.

I can rebind these in the RetroArch GUI, but some have effect, some don't. I can not move gear away from start button, for example. I can not move "start" and "insert coint" to "start" and "select" buttons, away from the D-PAD. However, I can move the "return to menu" -key (which can be quite intrusive in the shoulder button as that is way too easy to press accidentally).

The game is very awkward, almost impossible to play.

This. Can't find answer on google. Using Retroarch on LibreELEC on raspberry. Controls are awkward, some buttons wont rebind and even then, the rebinded control doesn;t actually do what it says is does. Impossible to play . Using Xbox360 controller, if that helps, be happy to help testing.

FWIW I was able to bind buttons in the end by trial-and-error. I went trough the process button-by-button - i.e. changing just one which is not doing what it should be according to UI. Seems like buttons are consistently bound to something else than reflected by the UI, but the good thing it is consistent (i.e. - from the top of my head, this might actually be wrong: "left" is actually "start" etc.).

Very awkward indeed, in any case.

I have the exact same problem. I couldn't find out how to map Gear. In the end, I mapped it to 5 different buttons in the hope one of them would work. Then it worked.
