On a Raspberry Pi 4, with Retropie 4.7.11, Raspbian OS Buster Kernel 5.10, Retroarch 1.8.8.
After a time of use, the game to freeze on boot. You get stuck on a yellow-ish screen with some lines. The workaround is to manually delete the nvmem or nvmem2 files.
It also freezes when you go into Test/Service mode and try to exit out of it.
