Chu Chu Rocket Puzzle Downloads Do Not Work #1119

Open Freakservo opened 2 years ago

Hi,

So I'm really digging Flycast lately, especially the ability to go online and re-visit 20-some-year-old webpages and servers.

But I have an issue with Chu Chu Rocket. When I try downloading files from the puzzle room, the download progress window gets to '24/25' then stops. I can't return to the lobby afterward; I have to pause and disconnect.

The puzzle file(s) do not save to the VMU.

I also can't upload data either, as the creation mode seemingly doesn't save my puzzles, either.

Hopefully this is an issue on my side and a solution is already out there, but if not, hopefully you folks can fix it.

Note: I forgot to mention this problem is with the RetroArch core. The standalone Flycast works.

You should upgrade your core as it is now at the same feature level as standalone. And these issues should be fixed.

I just tried updating the core. I even deleted the core and re-downloaded it from the 'core download's fresh. No dice.

I must be missing something. Is there something else I should've checked?

flyinghead commented 2 years ago

What's the current version the core you have installed? Which platform/OS are you on?

Freakservo commented 2 years ago

Lessee...

Uhm, Platform is WIndows (11), and the current core I have is 1.2-6-gbf87f7b.

This is the correct version, same as standalone. But I don't see why this network issue would only happen with the core. You can try to delete the core options (Flycast.opt) to reset them to default. Also, don't pause the emulator or open the RA quick menu when online, and don't use fast-forward.

Argh! Still the same problem!

I can't figure this out. I deleted the options file, tried deleting and re-downloading the core. I have the latest RetroArch (1.9.14 Nightly) and I've been switching between the Redump and .cdi variants.

Perhaps I should reinstall RetroArch entirely? I mean, yeah, that is kind of a last-ditch effort here...

flyinghead commented 2 years ago

It won't hurt but I'm not sure it would help. I don't see which RA setting could affect the issue. I'll do some tests with the core to try to figure it out.

I appreciate the support.

Yeah, you were right, re-installing RetroArch did nothing. Hm, I'm out of ideas. =\
