Cannot chat using my keyboard in Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 when port 2 controls is set to keyboard in RetroArch #1180

So I'm trying to use my keyboard in Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 because it's easier to chat like that, but the problem is that despite me having set port 2 controls to keyboard and port 1 controls to controller, I am not able to chat using my keyboard. And yes I have Game Focus set to on. Also if I set port 1 controls to keyboard and port 2 controls to controller, chatting then works but my controller doesn't work, and on top of that I have to recreate a new save.

Same problem. The issue is still relevant.
