2 Naomi games no longer working #825

So these worked fine a couple commits back, but don't now. I have updated to the 0218 romset..

Gun Survivor 2 just kicks me back to the ui.

Ringout 4x4 has a "Caution 15: Game Assignments are Incorrect" error. I reset the bios dips and even deleted the nvrams, but the error still occurs.

Any ideas what's going on?

As mentioned in the other thread, Ringout 4x4 should start fine with the new eeprom dump, or after proper setup using the service menu.

Is gunsur2 still having issues?

HoJo215 commented 4 years ago

Ringout 4x4 does work now. Thanks for looking into it.

Gunsur2 still kicks me back to the ui. It worked previously because I remember the controls were awkward.

gunsur2 & gunsur2j romsets should be in sync with MAME 0.218 (afaik they didn't change over the past few years anyway). Check your romsets again, and make sure they aren't corrupt (try extracting them).

Gunsur2 just won't boot for me. Crcs are correct and zip is not corrupted. As I said, it worked fine a couple commits back. Now I get booted back to the gui.

As i said, it's working fine here, did you try extracting naomi.zip too ? When i say extracting, i mean it literally, i've seen cases of zip files that seemed totally fine until you tried extracting them. Next thing you could try is trying to launch the game from a fresh retroarch setup, to make sure your issue isn't setup related (maybe some odd setting is breaking stuff). Also, you never mentioned anything about your device, it could help though... Same for logs.

You can also try to delete the gunsur2.nvmem and gunsur2.eeprom files. They might have been corrupted.
