NFL Blitz [Dreamcast] Issue #883

Hi @flyinghead

Just reporting an issue with DC NFL Blitz game. It will boot and hang up to before game screen starts (after selecting the teams). I also noticed that the announcers voice is NOT saying the teams names.

This is on Nvidia Shield TV 2019 32bit Android TV

blisstik commented 4 years ago

Ok fixed it by changing Audio Resampler to Nearest. Sinc dind't work

blisstik commented 4 years ago

OK it's not related to Audio Resampler at all. It's an odd one. At the beginning of the menu, Madden will say "Welcome to NFL Blitz 2001". If you start a game while he's saying those words, it will freeze after selecting teams. Really odd

Same issue with standalone on Intel platform

It doesn't seem to happen with HLE BIOS

I tested this workaround after finding this issue. It still happened to me with HLE BIOS

ok after like an hour of testing..... it appears allowing the announcer to say his line at the main screen, and giving it another 3 or 4 seconds after he talks, to ensure the audio clip has ended and triggered what ever it is triggering... and everything works fine. I just dumped the whole game, and i made a save state at the team select screen after alllowing what i just said to take place, never had an issue loading in to the game with every single team. so flyinghead, there seems to be some trigger that occures, because if you notice, the game dosnt "freeze" at the hang ppint the music wil play and the icons can be rotated when the games in the hang screen there... so something that has to do with that line being said, and making sure the audio clip is totally done, THEN proceeding, everything is fine, and this is on normal bios....not HLE.
