Transfer ownership of this core #45

I've been thinking about this these past couple of days and i want to ask @markwkidd or @grant2258 since your both doin such a good job on this core of late in light of this i'd like to transfer ownership of the git across to one of ya's

I'll still have contributer status and might chip in with the odd fix and or improvement from current MAME but apart from that i feel my work is done here and i cant really be bothered continually having to deal with some of the petty politics and characters that surround the libretro scene.

I gotta say In my opinion you guys will take this core futher than i ever could anyway. let me know which one of ya's would like it and i'll put in motion you'll have to delete your fork firstly and then i can pass it over

Regards

I'm very flattered at what you are saying. I think the three of us have been making pretty good progress as a trio! Each of us has a different approach.

@arcadez for the long term, how would you feel if all three of us keep our ability to merge commits, and this repo becomes part of the libretro organization at an address like http://github.com/libretro/mame2003-plus-libretro ?

That would allow each of us to keep working but also would allow Twinaphex and the other lead developers there to make updates if we become less active in the future.

I haven't asked if Twinaphex would like this but my feeling is that he would agree if you do arcadez.

@arcadez I would personally prefer if you just stayed as well. You started all this and I dont do politics either. I try not talk about technical aspects on forums now because people thing your arguing with the when your not. Its easier to just fix things.

This is you baby its ready to go. I think it would be great if we got support from the libretro team as well I dont know how you feel about that though and that would be up to you at the end of the day. I know it seems limiting and harsh at times but it to keeps it all together so it all works like it should with retroarch. I dont agree with some of the setups but i can see it from a big picture point of view and why certain choices would be made. Im reallly surprised i was added as a contributor ive only submitted a few patches when i found bugs in the making of mamemagic and decided to fix some things up that where fixable

Yeah you guys have done so much in a short time. I am in DAT nirvana. 100+ new/updated games to boot. I mean...come on, Rampage, the movie is going to debut in a week, that's no coincidence. The Force is strong in this trio! ;)

The Three Musketeers The Three Amigos The Three Bears Mario, Luigi & Bowser Snap, Crackle & Pop The Magi (Three Wise Men) The Marx Brothers Alvin and the Chipmunks The Good, The Bad & The Ugly Huey, Dewey & Louie The Bee Gees Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato (BLT)

Ok guys i'll go with what your suggesting, lets make this part of official libretro organization i wont be around as much hence why i wanted to hand this over incase more contributors were to come along and that way you can easily give them push access.

Anyway i'll close this now.

markwkidd commented 6 years ago

OK, @arcadez and it's good to plan for real life and that we all may be involved less or more.

Would you like me to contact the folks at libretro?

ghost commented 6 years ago

Sure

markwkidd commented 6 years ago

OK @arcadez , @twinaphex says it would be fine to have this repository join the libretro github organization. we will still retain merge rights.

Could you go to the "Settings" tab? Near the bottom of the Settings there should be a place for you to transfer the repository to twinaphex who will then move it into libretro

ghost commented 6 years ago

Ok it's done when he or she accepts the transfer
