Games like Smash TV, Total Carnage, and Robotron require Left/Up, Left/Down, Left/Left, and Left/Right (same applies to Right/Up, etc.) to be set under Input (general) in the mame tab menu to be playable. The problem is that it will write the changes to the mame.ini file but they always revert to n/a when loading a game, forcing you to set controls up all over again.
