Enabling "Load State Automatically" gets some games get stuck on a still image w/ audio still playing #734

So far, Bomberman Hero has a problem where if "Load State Automatically" is enabled, the game will get stuck on a still image wherever I last save stated and I have no idea why. This didn't happen with other N64 games, AFAIK. If the option is disabled and I "load state" up booting up the ROM, the game loads the state without any issues.
