Spacebar issue on joypad vers "0.15+" #149

When attempting to register a spacebar click via the joypad SELECT button or any reassignment the games do not recognize this. I am using version 4.7.19 RetroPie with core binary as of the latest update. I have tried both an 8bitdo Pro 2 Plus in Xbox-360 mode and a PS4 wired controller with the same results.

Has anyone been able to have confirmed success of the space key being recognized correctly?

Do you have Game Mode switched on? (it passes all keys to emulator and not to RetroArch UI). Please try it.

i dont know how you thought it would work. but you cannot bind JOYPAD_SELECT to act as a SPACEBAR action key as far as i know. in retroarch bind, you can remap SELECT to SPACEBAR but not the reverse as i have understood your post. In what case does anything need spacebar for outside running under DOS/X-Win?
