On iOS 10.2 Jailbreaked and iOS 9.3.3 Jailbreaked. Latest compiled build and core.

Bios OK on right folder, impossible to launch a game tested with many roms in many formats just black screen when launching a rom.

Also, in the F12 menu when try to point to an other disk image or add an other one, RetroArch instantly crash.

It was a clean install. But tried and steel issue, also some users reported the same issue on Mac OS X on libretro forum, so maybe a problem with Apple devices...

Same for me, I have a black screen with any game It was also a fresh new install, so not a problem of path or config file

Testing on macOS, I would say a core issue as 1.7.8 previously worked with the core as it was Sept 2019. Successful operation of the core could be heard by starting with no content and listening for the startup beep, see #80

As of today... booting the core goes to in-emu menu. And from there Reset gets nothing but a black screen in all versions:

Hmm, maybe I am missing something...

I restored a backup of RetroArch.app and cores from Aug/Sep 2019 (PX68K core 85d59f0) just after I last confirmed it working and it now gives me the same black screen. Will do some more testing.

Am I losing my mind? 🤪 It's possible that I did not test it fully in September when I said the RetroArch was once again running the core OK, I wonder if it was possible to launch a game past the black screen on macOS at that time? (Sorry, life got in the way)

what do you expect to happen when there is not even a disk loaded. you also closed the issue where i posted some guides. considering that the op never came back since 2 years ago, its better to continue conversation on an active thread.

I’m still here, just have big works irl so I can’t test the core on recent RetroArch, the last version of RA on my iPad is 1.7.8 and the core is OK, ROMs launch without any problem.

I have to update RetroArch to test, I will try this night.

But I read every update so you can continue here 👍

Doing more testing.

With or without a disk, chosen through RetoArch frontend or persistent in config, after 8 or 80 seconds, the result is the same for me:

black screen
with the ability to summon the in-emu menu
but no progress of loading

in-emu reset gives me something also seen in #40

Another log, with verbose debug logging turned on. Here, I try loading a disk Akazukin Cha Cha Cha v1.04 (1995)(Sprite).dim through frontend - no joy.

Then I use the in-emu F12 menu to choose the disk manually, then do a reset. But still no joy, just the drv:-1 in the log.

My hunch is that somehow the emu is not aware of any disk being loaded on iOS/Mac.

I didn’t realize the new issue is on macOS, my original thread was for iOS Version of RA, confused.

So no problem on iOS, I just updated to RA 1.8.2, it’s not the latest version but it’s just for testing and no problem on iOS.

Here some pics on 1.8.2 + PX68K but on iOS so it won’t help.
