I was playing on the lichess mobile app when the bug occurred. For three consecutive games, I have attempted to move a pawn one square from its starting square, but the game has automatically moved it two squares. Twice I have tried to move an e pawn from e2 to e3, but e4 was played instead. Once I tried to move an a pawn from a7 to a6, and a5 was played.

These are the relevant games, I resigned soon after it happened each time:

Did you drag the piece or did you click the piece and then click the destination square?

Click and then the destination square. I thought it was user error the first time, but I was extra careful during the follow up games.
