Shrinking pieces after capture for in-progress correspondance game on Android #1573

After a capturing move is played, all the pieces shrink to a smaller size. They return to normal size after the next move is played or the user navigates to the previous move. I have only been able to reproduce this on lichess Android with an in-progress correspondence game. It seems to happen regardless of which piece set or board theme is used.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start a correspondence game on using the lichess Android app (tested on lichess v7.6.1).
  2. Make a capture.
  3. Pieces suddenly get smaller. Using the prev/next move buttons allows you to see the pieces changing size.

can't reproduce

what are you phone model/ os version?

Sure thing, this is using Oxygen OS 10.3.8 on a OnePlus 6.

It's not reproducing on every single capture, but typically if I skip forward and back in a game it will happen on a large number of the captures. Sorry haven't nailed it down more than that yet.

I can repro as well between the plies of move 4 in that game. same OS, same device model. The problem appears to occur when material advantage icons appear or disappear (zero to one, one to zero) on either side.
