1 year ago To add to this, I enjoy playing against https://lichess.org/@/maia1. Finding that bot each day is getting more difficult in the UI.
Initially, it was fine as I just added maia1 to my friend list, and they would appear there. A recent change seems to have made it so it no longer appears as online in the friends' list (even when the bot is online).
On mobile, it feels even worse. I usually have to go to "My profile" -> "Previous Games" -> "find a game with maia1" -> "go to maia1 profile" -> "challenge".
I think that making bots more of a first-class citizen in the UI would be good for new players overall.

The https://lichess.org/player/bots is really hidden under the player's section, a new player should be able to play these bots from the front lichess.org UI, maybe under "play computer" there could be "Challenge bots" it makes sense to give users more variety than just 1 stockfish feature. The goal here is to make the bots page not hidden, maybe some redirect buttons to the bot page can also be helpful.
