UI Improvements: chess.com like analysis UI/UX #13023

Hello all,

I want to thank you all for making this great application. But, the analysis UI/UX could be improved. The current UI is confusing. Example: I wish, lichess had chess.com type of analysis system UI. Just like this, Screenshot_20230614-215848~2.png

Look at the lichess all analysis of the same position, Screenshot_20230614-231851~2.png

I believe that this is too broad and it's not necessarily true that the chess.com UI is better than lichess's in all aspects. It would be better to break this down to separate Issues targeting specific components of the lichess analysis UI which can be improved.

No, I'm not saying that lichess's UI is bad in all aspects. I've not said that. I just gave refrence of chess.com's UI as I think it is a good example of UX in comparison to the lichess.

It would be better to break this down to separate Issues targeting specific components of the lichess analysis UI which can be improved.

Not sure what you're suggesting, on desktop I vastly prefer lichess's analysis in terms of UI, although if I may throw in a complaint, it seems that chess.com usually only classifies moves as blunders if they lead to direct loss of material; on lichess, I struggle more often to understand why a move is a blunder as a beginner.

please don't add chess.com coach oh my god. they keep adding those features that look like they mean something but actually don't (e.g. rating performance per game)..

yeah the "definitions game" is quite interesting. some authors argue that a "blunder" is only a move that you should have seen but didn't for whatever reason.. i don't really disagree but then we are starting to veer into the realm of subjectivity :o

It must be recognized that currently chess.com has the best chess interface on mobile, it is friendly, easy to use and motivates you to play, the lichess interface on the other hand is a bit depressing and feels very old, there are also things that could be drastically improved, such as the home screen. In addition, the current chess.com puzzle system is a lot of fun and motivating unlike lichess which is boring and monotonous
