I know it’s a chicken and egg problem, but looking at it for now there is far too few streamers there (could not find a single chess stream) for us to make sense about supporting it.

True, I understand. You've to start the community from scratch while you turn from one (Twitch) platform to another (Kick) but on the other hand platforms like Owncast & PeerTube are decentralized & foss. It's little-bit technical for users to setup owncast, so I hope to gain it's popularity maybe in future. Definitely low priority feature request for Lichess. Thanks.
