I also want better support for community events, like tagging games by participants of an event and disposable sub-teams.
The flattr site lacks a lot of information. I wanted to ask if flattr allows the money to go straight to the charity (never touching anyone's hands) or if someone would be responsible to send the money to the charity once it's over?
Seems like a wonderful idea.
How are we doing 5 years later?
There are many chess sites for playing high-profile chess tournaments and chess matches. As an example, many streamers and/or titled players arrange matches for dual commentary.
Instead of these matches being played on a non-free site, I want to encourage them happening on Lichess. To achieve that, I would like it to be possible for players to arrange a tournament or a multigame match connected to a certain charity. During the tournament or match, Lichess would display Flattr buttons, making it easy for all spectators to donate to the charity. The donation total should be tracked and displayed somewhere.
The idea is that many players would prefer to play a match/tournament on Lichess to benefit a charity over playing a normal match/tournament on another chess site.
There are many details to iron out, but I don't want to spend time on it until I am more confident it is a good idea and actually possible. Feedback welcome.
