"Thematic" is not translated there. [done. see #3469.]
consider to translate "Marathon" (especially for other alphabets) + seasons names. [probably not for now. these are just custom tourney names.]

At the end ( https://lichess.org/uKLgNsfVcHAg ) of a game , in the chat box : messages "Rematch offer sent" and "Rematch offer accepted" are not translated.
Translate short messages buttons and texts : "GG" for "Good game", "WP" for "Well played", ...

I honestly thought those short message buttons were translated. I thought the whole point of the preset message was that user1 who clicks it sees the message in their language and that the other player may see the same message in their other language, facilitating being nice across languages :-)

Sure Arex, that's the only possible way to communicate with your opponent when both have no languages in common.

I had a new idea about the variation names (and other very specific names) : Translate them only for non-latin alphabet, the idea is to target more especially regions where there are a lot of potential chess players : Cyrillic, Chinese, Arabic, Indic and Japanese types of alphabets (A nice map of types of alphabets here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alphabet#Types ). Else, what would be the point to display letters that a user cannot read ?

In addition to the above, we also need to translate Joda time period strings. Lichess is using the Joda library for displaying time periods but the library is not translated to many languages.
