Restricting a private tournament's chat to its members #4443

Closed ghost closed 5 years ago

Currently in lobby games we have a private chat and another one for public. Private tournaments are similar to lobby games, but a chat in a private tournament can still be accessed by anyone. Maybe it would be a good idea if a private tournament's chat were only visible to its members (and possibly there could be another chat for public).

For what is worth:

I upvoted this idea because as streamers some of us have been harassed by some troll being disrespectful in the chat with the players. They would keep creating fresh accounts so reporting is cumbersome and useless. We thought we would fix the problem by creating team only arenas, but we sadly discovered they can still enter the chat and annoy people 😞

Reporting may be cumbersome, but it's not useless. We have tools against multiaccounting, but we need reports to notice it.

Got it, I'll try to keep reporting.

But the feeling is that it's useless when a user gets timed out "for disrespecting other players" and the next minute he talks from another account. It's really annoying to spend a stream reporting or dealing with a troll, basically just giving him credit.

Have your viewers do it for you. It's better indeed not to acknowledge a troll on stream.
