firefox hg, linux, alsa, no sound. only site/page without sound. #6692

Heya, not sure if it's FF (sandboxing) or if it's lichess. Using linux, firefox , hg top (bleeding, bleeding tip).. and alsa only, no pulse. all sounds work fine and as expected on this browser. We wish to re-include it as 'good enough' software to be on the inclusion list. However, this is a important to fix before giving it a go ahead. So, I can fix the issues in the sandbox code if it is that, but need to make sure it is not something from lichess first. Do you guys have another link, or know someone who uses sound the way you do, or what API do you do, as I do not know why only the sounds on this site are non-functional.. Shame, I love lichess, even if you have become quite inconsistent it seems with this glicko2 monkey business :)

Sound on Lichess is based on https://howlerjs.com/.

Meanwhile there have been major sound system changes. Please reopen, if still present.

Thank you niklasf I have yet to investigate further. But thanks for the howler tip. I will look at it and when I get time do some testing/analysis. If anything pops up, I will shout. I can imagine you couldn't reproduce, unless you happen to have pure alsa, firefox-hg? hmm, would I need to compile this into the firefox I ponder or should it be enough to have it installed locally? (didn't work with it just locally, I shall give it a go and nvm this. I can shout if it persists). Just trying to nail down why no earth it's only lichess as far as I have noticed. :)
