That's the standard way of doing this.

However, I mostly wanted to ask whether these are still necessary. It seems that you disabled them in 2012 because they were unused. Is there any reason to keep them around?

Is there a NetBSD developer who merges changes? It'd be nice to have someone involved with development here.
