Does not work any more with EULE plugin for moder authentication #223

I installed the add-on some days ago, and it seemed to work, but I did not do much with it yet. Now I want to, but it appears it is not functional with my Exchange account. I created that two days ago, using the Eule for Exchange plugin - IMAP does no longer work in my company. It just says checking...., and nothing happens. The debug console also shows nothing when I click an e-mail in that account.

Known issue? Any way I can help with that?

I assume you are talking about https://www.beonex.com/owl/? Unfortunately I do not have an exchange account to test this myself.

The debug console also shows nothing when I click an e-mail in that account.

Have you also tried it with debug on in the advanced settings?

Have you made sure that the DKIM add-on by itself work? E.g. if you copy an affected e-mail with DKIM into your Lokal Folder account, verification should work there.

If you made sure that the DKIM verifier add-on works for you with other accounts, I would suggest you get it contact with the Owl add-ons authors, and ask them

Hi Philippe!

I assume you are talking about https://www.beonex.com/owl/ https://www.beonex.com/owl/? Unfortunately I do not have an exchange account to test this myself.

Yes, that's the one. Looks to me like this is the only way to make Thunderbird work with Microsoft Azure multi-factor authentication.

The debug console also shows nothing when I click an e-mail in that
account.

Have you also tried it with debug on in the advanced settings?

Yes, that's enabled.

Have you made sure that the DKIM add-on by itself work? E.g. if you copy an affected e-mail with DKIM into your /Lokal Folder/ account, verification should work there.

Yes, it does, so I'm good. Just wanted to report this.

If you made sure that the DKIM verifier add-on works for you with other accounts, I would suggest you get it contact with the Owl add-ons authors, and ask them

  • if they are aware of any incompatibilities with other add-ons
  • if the |browser.messageDisplay.onMessageDisplayed| and |browser.messages.getFull()/getRaw()| WebExtension APIs should in general work for exchange accounts created with their add-on

Okay, will do. Thanks!

Alex

Does this issue still exists? If yes, did you contact the authors of Owl?

Ibexalex commented 3 years ago

Ah, yes, I did that: "I'm sorry but we can not guarantee how Owl interacts with other add-ons. The developer team focuses on Owl in such a way that it benefits Owl solely. We do not consider other add-on support, as there are many-many add-ons that we'd have to consider."

BTW, I can copy/move messages to some other (not-Exchange) account or local folder, and then your plugin works. So, not a showstopper.
