not extracting text

Im getting an error that pdfs do not contain extractable text when asking for any analysis " I'm sorry, but I cannot provide a summary as the document 'Exploring Portraiture in Teaching Practice' does not contain any extractable text."

I drag a pdf into the drop zone, ask it to summarise or respond to a question, outcome is the error indicated. Ive tried multiple documents and confirmed that text can be copied and pasted.

When I dropped 2 documents and requested a extraction of certain points related to topics, it gave me a list of sources in my library that related to the topics, ie did not access the dropped documents
